The current line up of Raucous came about after Enthalpy (Hodges, Aicken and Collins) recruited Michael Andrews in on Bass. This freed up Michael Aicken to concentrate on singing, and the odd solo acoustic song. We had time with a second drummer, Keith Winter, who added his rhythmical expertise. Recently, Alan stepped in to great effect. His excellent Dave Grohl impressions on the drums adds an extra dimension of power, and heaviness.
We are all 17 (pretty much). Tristan and Michael Aicken are studying for their A-levels at Regent House School in Newtownards. Michael Andrews and Alan Lynn are working at Bangor Tech on a music technology/ production type course (learning how to turn amps on and off), while they emotionally prepare themselves for the chaotic lifestyle involved in being professional bums (we'll probably change this bit whenever they read this).
Our style of music lies in the 1st rack of CD's on the left (not on the wall) as you walk into Our Price in Bangor. Our influences vary a lot between members, with Michael Aicken owning an Oasis album, and Alan's obsession with the Foo Fighters. But in all seriousness, we all listen to different things, which reflects in our songs; many have quiet melodic parts with a heavy part thrown in for good measure. On the other side, Michael Aicken and Ruth Briggs excel in their acoustic performances, with staggeringly good singing and an air of confidence.
Well we could say much more but it would be sheer waffle (birdseye, of course, those supermarket own brands just don't taste right, do they?).
Oh, our shoe sizes are 9, 10, 9, 8 - can you guess who the bigfoot is?
